Serves Dinner for 2, w/ leftovers
Entered/Updated 2002-11-22 16:19:26
Added by Lynn USA, CA
Ingredients:
1 cup dry pasta shells
Ground beef or turkey
1 onion
1 can kidney beans
1 large can tomatoes
1 small can tomato sauce
salt & pepper to taste
garlic powder to taste (1/4 to 1/2 tsp or so depending on how garlicky you like things)
Instructions:
Bring large pan of water to boil, add pasta shells & cook, stirring often till tender (follow package directions)
While pasta cooks:
Chop onion
Brown meat in skillet (if using ground turkey, put a little oil [just to coat] in pan)
When meat is almost brown, add onion & cook till meat is done, till onion is soft.
Add canned tomatoes and chop up a bit so chunks aren't too large
Add kidney beans
Add tomato sauce & seasonings
Add cooked pasta
Cover & simmer 5 minutes or so to blend flavors
Stir & serve
Notes:
Be creative with this one, add whatever else you like to make it interesting. Can add a little chili powder to spice it up if you like.
