Ingredients: 3/4 lb. very lean beef, cubed 5 C water 1 12 oz daikon radish, peeled & diced 1 tablespoon palm sugar or light brown sugar 3 tablespoons fish sauce (like nam pla) or soy sauce 1 tsp chili paste 1 tablespoon rice vinegar Cilantro for garnish if you want. |
Instructions: 1. Combine beef and water in a heavy pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 15 min. Skim off any foam or goop from surface. 2. Add daikon and cook until translucent and easily pierced with a fork (10 min?) Add everything else except cilantro, and mix well. Serve as a starter or with rice as a light meal. |
