Byzantium (Author: Stephen R. Lawhead)

A really cool book. If you like any of SRL's writings you are almost sure to be able to get something out of this one! In fact, I would recommend it to people that don't even like SRL. (Although it is understood that I have a slight bias toward him!) The description of the city of Byzantium is absolutely increadable. If you have ever read William Butler Yeats and wanted to see the city as he saw it, Lawhead masterfully captures the awe of the beholder the first time he catches sight of the city. I do not for a moment think that Yeats is talking about actually seeing the city (Sailing to Byzantium) but if you look at what he wrote in A Vision, you will begin to understand what I mean.
